Little Radical Theatrics is thrilled to announce auditions for its Summer 2025 all ages community theater production of Sister Act at The Doctor Phillips Center for the Performing Arts!

Performances August 15th-17th at the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater in the Doctor Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando Fl.

Auditions by appointment May 28th and 29th from 6-9 PM at 10771 International Dr Orlando in the Rivers Conference Room. Callbacks May 31st in the afternoon in the Rivers Conference Room

Rehearsals will begin on June 4th and generally take place Mon-Thurs 6:30-10:30 PM at 10771 International Dr or 10731 International Dr Orlando. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal and we work around conflicts as long as they are listed in advance.

Please email littleradicaltheatrics@gmail.com with your headshot and resume (if you have them) for an audition slot. For the auditions please prepare a song in the style of the show (uptempo contemporary musical theatre) and bring either a track or sheet music in the correct key. There will be a dance call.

We are actively looking for actors of all ethnicities (especially BiPoc performers), all genders and gender identities, all ages and body types. The character descriptions are suggestions (other than where race is explicitly stated) and we encourage actors to audition for any role that interests them!

Delores van Cartier - The energetic and street-smart diva who dreams of superstardom. Delores is a woman who is brash, bold, and full of life but grows into a more selfless, loving person through her journey. A strong African-American singer and actor with comedic timing. Dance skills are a plus. 20s-40s

Mother Superior - The stern yet kind-hearted leader of the convent. Mother Superior struggles to accept Delores and her unconventional ways but ultimately comes to respect her. Requires a strong actor with a commanding presence and great comedic timing. Mezzo. Any ethnicity. Playing ages 40s-70s

Eddie Souther - A lovable, awkward, and well-meaning police officer with a crush on Deloris. Eddie is determined to protect her and eventually finds his confidence. Requires strong acting, comedic timing, and vocal skills. Tenor. Any ethnicity. Ages 20s-40s

Curtis - A smooth-talking, dangerous nightclub owner and gangster. Curtis is Deloris’ ex-boyfriend and the antagonist of the story. Needs a strong actor with a commanding presence and a rich voice. Baritone. Any Ethnicity. Ages 30s-50s

Mary Robert - A shy, timid postulant who blossoms under Deloris’ influence. Mary Robert discovers her voice, both literally and figuratively. Requires a strong singer who can belt and portray innocence with depth. Soprano with belt. Any ethnicity. Ages teens - 20s

Mary Lazarus - The sarcastic, deadpan choir mistress with a quick wit and no-nonsense attitude. She eventually warms up to Deloris’ new musical direction. A comedic role requiring strong timing and vocal skills. Alto who can rap. Any ethnicity. Playing ages 50s-80s

TJ - Curtis’ goofy, dimwitted nephew and one of his henchmen. A comedic character with good vocal and movement skills. Baritenor. Any ethnicity. Ages teens to 30s

Joey - One of Curtis’ henchmen. Joey is confident, full of himself, and thinks he’s irresistible. A strong comedic actor with good vocal ability. Tenor. Any ethnicity. Ages 20s - 50s

Pablo - Curtis’ Spanish-speaking henchman with a flair for dramatic gestures. A comedic role requiring a strong character actor and vocal skills. Tenor with falsetto. Hispanic/Latinx/BiPoc. Ages 20s-50s

Monsignor O’Hara - The kind, friendly priest of the convent. Monsignor enthusiastically supports Deloris’ musical changes. A strong character actor with good vocal ability. Baritone. Any ethnicity. Ages 30s-80s

Mary Martin of Tours - A nun of the convent. Clearly in her own world, but has her moments of surprising clarity. Any vocal range. Any ethnicity. Any age 14+.

Mary Theresa - A nun of the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but secretly packs a punch. Any vocal range. Any ethnicity. Playing age 60s-90S

Michelle - One of Deloris’s back-up singers. Lippy and always quick with a retort. Mezzo who can move. Will double as a nun Any ethnicity. Ages 16 - 35

Tina - One of Deloris’s back-up singers. A little naive. Mezzo who can move. Will Double as a nun. Any ethnicity. Ages 16-35

Ernie - One of Curtis’s thugs. Initially thought to be a mindless yes-man, he turns out to be an undercover police informant. Will double in the ensemble. Any age 16+

Nuns/Postulants - Nuns and Postulants (junior nuns) in the convent. There are MANY featured solos who will be assigned from this group! Strong singers who can move well. Any ethnicity. Ages 13-90

Altar Kids - Altar kids who serve in the church. Will be in a few ensemble scenes as well as the big Nun group numbers. Ages 6-12

Philly Citizens - Homeless People, Bar Denizens, Fantasy Dancers, Cops etc. Featured acting roles will be cast from this group. Ages 14-90
